TONIGHT!
Help Japan Art Sale

As you read in the last newsletter, in conjunction with Papergirl Manchester we are holding an art sale in the Kestrel Suite. All proceeds will be going to the Red Cross Japan tsunami appeal.

People have been donating lots of lovely art for you to buy. I believe there are some exclusive pieces just for this exhibition. There will be a mix of originals and prints, tote bags, t-shirts and knitted beards! If you can’t make it tonight, then the work will be up until Sunday 3rd April.

You can also donate online here, we hope to see you TONIGHT at 6pm! As an added bonus, Common will be donating all our door takings on Saturday 2nd April from 10pm onwards, thank you!

Saturday 16th April

Record Store Day, the global celebration of independent record shops, is here again. This year, as well as stocking all the limited edition records and CDs that are exclusively available to buy on the day, Manchester’s Piccadilly Records will also be organising other events in their Oldham Street shop, and elsewhere in the Northern Quarter.

In store they will have a selection of DJs spinning tunes from midday onwards, an exclusive art print, film projections, stalls and the usual selection of goodies and give-aways. Over the road at Night & Day Piccadilly Records present the cream of local bands playing live 12-5pm (free entry with hand stamp), and Common will feature a Piccadilly Records vs Wet Play Record Store Day after-party featuring a cast of local DJ favourites on the decks from 6pm onwards.

We will also be offering discounts on food and drinks to Piccadilly Records customers on Record Store Day (with hand stamp). Come and share your love of music and join in the fun.

Coming to Edge Street on the 29th April 2011, a 1940s-style street party celebrating the Northern Quarter.
