27th October 2011
Hello!

As the nights draw in and the winter coats are coming out, we start to plan our end of year, end of days, endgame celebrations.
‘New Years Eve’ is always a bit of a minefield, it’s supposedly the best night of your life, Common is trying to make things easy for you, so read on for what we have planned.
We are also in the middle of ‘Week Of The Dead’, we are having lots of fun celebrating our favourite dead celebrities.

Week of the Dead
Happening now

This week Common has been transformed into a Mexican haven for the dead! There are brightly colour skull lanterns, a few skeletons in compromising positions and our amazing shrine to your favourite celebrities.
Decorating the bar has always been a rewarding pastime of ours and we are very proud of our efforts this year. Other venues may claim to be celebrating ‘Day Of The Dead’, but I think some of them should check their calendars! Plus we have gone one step further and stretched it out over a week, so come celebrate with us.
During the next five days the kitchen will be cooking up some Mexican burgers, spicy chicken burritos, corn fritters and lots more to come, the festival highlight will be the Common Knowledge Halloween Special on MONDAY 31st at 7pm. Please note the change of date for the quiz, come dressed up and win prizes.
New Years Eve
Just another night

We have decided to throw a good old knees up this New Years Eve, for those who like to party, but don’t want to sell a kidney to do so! The night in question will entail a minimal door fee, great music, fantastic friends and a complementary glass of bubbly as the clock strikes midnight.
DJs on the night will be Neil Atkins and ESqueezy supplying the ‘non stop party hits’. They have proved themselves to be the ‘cream of the crop’ at Common and we hope to provide the best house party you can have in a bar.
There will be no advance tickets, it will be £3 after 8pm, we will be open from 6pm until around 2am. So there’s no fuss, no bother, just good times. Bring your friends and hang with us for the evening.
NYE at Common / Saturday 31st December – 6pm until 2am / £3 after 8pm (free glass of bubbly at midnight)
Your Favourite Gig
Tickets for sale

There are lots of gigs happening in this fare city, some of them are promoted by our good friends Now Wave and Hey Manchester.
Common likes to give something back to our customers, so we have teamed up with the aforementioned promoters and are offering select tickets for some of their shows with NO booking fee.
We have tickets for the following shows Stephen Malkmus, Thurston Moore, The Lemonheads, Baby Dee, The Miserable Rich, William Fitzsimmons, King Creosote & Jon Hopkins plus many more.
So come and grab a coffee / pint and purchase a ticket for a great show. Please note we are not an ‘official’ ticket outlet and you may not be able to purchase tickets at busy times in our venue – cheers.
