Pull Yourself Together

A massive collaboration of sorts: “Pull Yourself Together is one of the most pleasurable pieces of paper I have ever read”.
The job in hand, is written and collated by Dan Feeney and Hannah Bayfield. Designed and laid out by Rob Walmsley (Teacake) then finally printed by ‘Last Of The Summer Wine Tribute Act’ aka MARC The Printers. Who would of thought this could have happened, but now here it is in my hand, after two glorious years. Still going strong.
The current issue is about to launch tonight, featuring artwork from Rabbit Portal (who is doing our new exhibition in February 2011) so it involves even more good Common people, if that was possible? The fanzine also includes exclusive interviews with Steve Lamacq and The Divine Comedy. Its definitely a thing of beauty, and gives me a warm glow inside.
Something Around The Corner
Giving birth next year

If you had read some ‘tabloid’ websites, we will soon be announcing a new arrival.
The embryonic stages are going extremely well, mother and son are in a very comfortable and stable condition. Expect some labour pains to happen throughout January. With a due date of February 2011.
Names have already been jotted down, Jack’s Place and John’s Tavern have been thrown in to the suggestion box, but the name will be picked very soon. If you would like to purchase our new baby a present, then please visit the stable to wet the baby’s head once we have announced the exact location.
Got all that? Thought so…..I could have just said we are hoping to open a new bar next year, but that would have been too simple. Official news in the next mailout. PS. By all means please do NOT click the link below to find out the real name of the bar.
Winter Is Beer
Hampers for all

It’s been another event filled month at Common on the beer front. Having two rare American crafts on draft, and new seasonals from some of our finest allies.
A new lot of new winter beers are starting to drop through our doors. This means we are going to have even more to offer you. We have also decided to put together a Christmas beer hamper of six amazing craft beers that will surely fill you with some festive cheer. Three of the six beers will only be available in the hamper and not for sale through normal methods. These will be available to purchase in December and will be strictly limited.
We are also showcasing two of our favourite breweries from this amazing year at Common, Darkstar and Thornbridge. They will run up until Christmas with a very special beer in-between, a collaboration between the two breweries to create what promises to be an amazing beverage.

The night is hosted by Pumping Iron, everyone’s most favourite discotheque and has a Gladiatorial theme to it. So dress up as a massive lion, or Romanesque solider, bring your friends, it will be lots of fun.
