16th November 2011

Hope you are keeping well?

Just a few things to mention this week, a new mobile version of Port Street Beer House’s website launched last week, we welcome not one, but three ladies to the wooden DJ booth at Common and we have a tasty event from Schneider coming up.

Warm those cockles.

Mr Badger.

Port Street Beer House
Mobile web launch

Our little sister bar is currently growing month by month, she even has her own website now! Not only is it your bog standard website, it’s one that works superbly on a mobile device too!

If you point your favourite handset to the address – www.portstreetbeerhouse.co.uk you will be able to browse their extensive beer list, read the blog, leave comments and a whole lot more! This has been specially adapted by Teacake Design and Oh Digital to make it easy to use on your phone. If you are really impressed then make sure you add a bookmark or add the mobile web version to your home screen. Those on the apple type device will get a fancy PSBH logo on their phone!

We like beer here at Common too and have taken some inspiration from our sister bar and our bottle stock now includes new additions from Summer Wine Brewery, Red Willow, Magic Rock and The Kernel Brewery. Not as impressive as Port Street’s massive beer list, but hey at least we do proper food!

Friday 25th November
Dance Lady Dance

An all girl line up is on the cards for Freitags a week on Friday. ‘Dance Lady Dance’ claim to play twirly, girly disco, 80′s electro, sparkly pop, booty shaking hip hop, brand spanking new dancefloor smashers and hands in the air dance tracks blended together with plenty of their favourites from the past three decades.

I suppose you can be the judge of that, but we are pretty much guaranteed a non stop party when three of our favourites ladies in Manchester grace the famous wood chip booth at Common. To those a bit more astute you may also know them as Doré Young, Lou Pemberton and Jayne Louise Robinson.

They have been causing a storm at Funkademia and various other party venues across town, so what better a place than Freitags to truly launch them to the next level! Please give them a big Common welcome.

Follow them here and here.
