Welcome one and all

This is your friendly Common Web Badger here, how is everyone doing?
Things never seem to stop around here, painting, drinking, eating, it’s a hard knock life for an animal of the urban forest.
During this week we launch a very exciting new exhibition from Kristian Jones, Freitags has a very special guest playing for you and we have started our very cleverly named Euro-tober-fest.
Read on for lots of fulfilment.
Thank you please.

NEW Exhibition Launch – Lost In Youth

You may have noticed a certain colourful bleakness on our walls over the past week. Well we have been prepping them very carefully for our next artist Mr Kristian Jones.
As if by magic most of the work is going to suddenly appear on Thursday! This is not us being lazy, it’s the fact that said artist lives in Birmingham and we really wanted to work with him. So one option was to prepare most of the work externally and then construct it all on the actual day! A bit risky, maybe, but it makes it more fun for us and YOU.
We are super excited about trying out this method of madness and we hope you like the work. To encourage you to head down on Thursday the lovely people at Finlandia have given us oodles of booze and Kristian has designed a limited edition postcard for you to stick on your wall or fridge! So come and see for yourselves.
You can read a lot more about the exhibition HERE.
FREE booze supplied by Finlandia – PLUS a free limited edition signed postcard to the first 100 people through the door – THIS Thursday 6pm

Love Is Fighting

It’s special guest time at Freitags this week, they are very proud to announce ‘Love Is Fighting’ gracing the decks this Friday night!
Patrick Murphy (formerly RKID) has made a name for himself DJing on the New York music scene, playing plenty of after parties for the likes of The Yeah Yeah Yeah’s, The Strokes, Bjork, Iggy Pop and The Libertines. In 2008 having worked for Murder Inc Records, Patrick decided to move to Europe to work with his long time friend Steve Slingeneyer, who just so happens to play drums for Soulwax.
Eight years playing in bands and DJ’ing together in New York led to twisted electro, punk, rock, metal, hip hop, rave sets, until Slingeneyer finally returned home to Belgium to rejoin his Soulwax brethren. A move that Murphy soon followed to pursue a full time DJ career. LOVE IS FIGHTING has since been sharing the stage with party hellraisers; The Klaxons, Midnight Juggernauts, Feadz, Justice, The Shoes, LFO, Djedjotronic, DJ Hell, Miss Kitten, to name a few… Expect a very good party indeed! Freitags style!

Month Long

Tired of the US craft beer take over? We present to you a month long, multi-venue love-in of all things Euro. Both Common and Port Street Beer House will be taking in wonderful beers from: Denmark, Norway, Belgium, England, Germany, Holland and not forgetting Scotland.
We don’t want to name too many products as hopefully the breweries involved will do the talking for us. Common will be serving some foody euro specials and Port Street will be sourcing some very fine brews.
This will be lasting one whole month as we have so many beers to showcase, there will also be some cross over into the Manchester Food and Drink Festival, make sure you have voted for PSBH in the best bar and best newcomer, click HERE to vote.
