Wednesday 25 May
Pull Yourself Together featuring Pigeon Post

Our very own indie pop night Pull Yourself Together has recently been growing from strength to strength. Their adamant ways of all things great and musical are paying off.

Dan and Hannah DJ every fortnight at Common, produce an excellent fanzine every two months, run a small record label and seem to do everything else in between, as well as holding down full time jobs / studies. We will be unfortunately losing PYT in August, not in some sort of murder scandal, something just as bad, they will be moving to Sheffield!

So the next couple of months will be their last! Boo! To celebrate their last few months they have lined up some special guests. Tonight’s turn is from Matthew Britton, he blogs to the masses under the pseudonym, Pigeon Post. Expect to hear music you never knew you liked, underground pop hits and bands you didn’t even know existed!

8pm until midnight – free

Thursday 26 May
Flesh & Bones exhibition launch

After ten days of lots of black and white paint, the day is upon us to launch a brand new exhibition. Doesn’t time fly when you are having fun?

This Thursday sees the amazing David Bailey launch his ‘Flesh and Bones’ exhibition, an over sized incarnation of his comic strip / fanzine. For those that have seen the work in progress you may have noticed its looking very good indeed. We are yet to put up some limited edition prints, tote bags and t-shirts, all hand made and all for sale in limited numbers from tomorrow onwards.

The work is all done quite simply in black and white, but has a deeper story hidden in the speech bubbles of the characters. David has even recreated a famous record sleeve, see if you can spot it when you pay us a visit.

The launch party happens tomorrow from 6pm and involves a few free drinks, a free limited edition postcard to the first 100 people through the door and to finish it all off Comfortable On A Tightrope will be playing records for your aural delights. Come down.

6pm until 9pm – followed by Stop Making Sense – all free

Sunday 29 May
Squeezy Sauce – The Re:Squeeze

When something from the past just wont let go, there are times when you just have to give in and let your long lost aunty pay you a visit. A similar situation is about to happen this Sunday at Common.

We are welcoming back Squeezy Sauce, an off shoot from the ‘Chips With Everything’ clan who were once a integral part in Commons rosta. A few line up changes later and they are back for a bank holiday special! DJs Mangaze, LA77, Rob Hyde and Viky Vaughn will be playing you the best in Tropical Keg, Brobeat, Dudestep, Pitched-down bro, Bromantic Dudebeat, Witch Dude and Old-skool Bro.

Expect an awesome light show, disco lasers, smoke machines and balloons all included in the door price, which is free by the way. So head down to Common and welcome back some ‘old’ faces in a special Sunday session.
