Ale Trail
Getting deeper

Well Common’s second beer trail is well and truly in full swing. We have had some lovely ales from all around the country already. Sheffield’s Kellam Island was one of the early highlights with their excellent pale rider, a lovely refreshing light ale. We then visited North Wales via the Conwy brewery. Following that we went to Derby with 99 Red Baboons from Blue Monkey, a delicious red ale with a roasted malt flavour. Then its back up north with the Bank Top brewery for our Boltonian beer geek.

This is going to continue until all the staffs home-brews have been tasted and showcased at Common, some however are proving hard to source as some of our staff are from the far points of the country. We will get there though, however hard the journey.

It’s all worth it for a good pint.

Lo-Fi DIY
Making Things Happen

Turning beloved scraps of paper, letters of love and maps of the world into beautiful books. On Tuesday 1st March you can do exactly that in the Kestrel Suite from 6pm till 9pm. With the aid of Caroline Coates you can create artist books, notes and scrap-books from just a few simple and careful folds of an A4 piece of paper along with a few simple book binding stitches.

All materials are provided for which the Lo-fi collective ask for a £1 donation, however they also encourage you to bring your own pieces with you to give your books that sense of nostalgia and personality. Anything from wrapping paper to drawings to maps can all be turned into your own wonderful little book. So come down and get crafty, Lo-Fi now takes place on the first Tuesday of every month at Common.
