Saturday 27 November
Special Guest Joe Respite (Lucky Me)

Hailing from Edinburgh via Leeds, Joe Respite makes his solo debut appearance at Common in a couple of weeks. Label mate to Eclair Fifi on Lucky Me records, Mr Respite is quickly making a name for himself.

He runs an event in Leeds called LIMN, a live illustration and electronica night, a collective of artists on stage getting busy with overhead projectors, sharpies, acetate and a ton of Red Stripe. Joe supplies the soundtrack to all the live art that happens on stage as well as running the night. They also work with live electronic musicians to come play while all that happens on stage, this month they’re are working with Room 237, Hype Williams, Fox Gut Daata and Astral Social Club.

At the second ever LIMN they had some chaps from Manchester called DR.ME? (Never heard of them!) They’ve also had artists come from Newcastle, Huddersfield, Brighton and London, but mainly they focus on involving students from Leeds Art college, where Joe currently studies.

Joe releases his debut on Lucky Me in 2011, expect some seriously good times at the end of November.

Friday 31 December
Pumping Iron NYE Special

Common & Pumping Iron Discotheque would like to invite you to a night of Gladiatorial Disco to celebrate the dawn of a new decade.

Expect a muscle pumping mix of vintage underground disco, pulsating house and aerobic Hi-NRG to keep spirits burning as the clock strikes midnight. The shutters will be slammed down for our disco lock-in and we’ll be serving the best selection of beers and spirits this side of the Atlantic. Now with the extra room outback for an unwinding cool down, you’ll have your pick of energetic nightlife or smooth relaxation.

Don your warrior outfits and strike that statuesque pose because the theme of the evening is Gladiator.

Tickets are £10 and will be available behind the bar from 15th November. Included in the ticket price is a free glass of chilled Prosecco at midnight.

*NB* To avoid disappointment we strongly recommend you buy tickets for the event beforehand as they will sell out quickly. We can only guarantee entry with tickets. From 15th December, ticket prices will increase to £15, and will remain this amount on the night.
